Despite people thinking that spring is the best time to sell homes I believe that winter is. Spring time brings an avalanche of properties to the market giving buyers a far better choice of properties. (that's if the spring season takes off).
If you are a seller, I would urge you to consider selling in winter when you are not in that much competition and the buyers are still starved for choice.
For a winter sale you need to create a warm welcome, baking smells, coffee smells, roast cooking. Turn up the heating in the property.
Get those throw rugs out in the warm colours they can brighten up your room. Don't forget the throw cushions.
As winter makes a lot of rooms dark make sure you have good bright white lights (put white ones in). Making sure you make the most of the natural light opportunities if you have to move furniture around to make that happen. Windows need to be cleaned.
Outside, plant your garden for winter time. Those borders can be planted with beautiful grasses and there are winter plants that have flowers. You can install basic lighting for the gardens which make those evening inspections have some ambience.
Make sure that you have fixed all those old leaks and painted the ceilings, touch up all the rooms that need painting. Change carpets, change lights where necessary.
Winter time is a great time to sell there just needs to be a little bit of discipline in the presentation.
