FAMILY

Family is probably the most important thing in anyone's life, however when you talk to a lot of people there is some very sad cases out there.

When you have a loving supportive family make sure you treasure it and tell them that you love them as they are seriously the people that will always love and protect you the most (well in most cases).

The grandmother or the grandfather of the family is such an important head of the family they have seen a lot more than you, they have been through wars, depression (depending on how old they are), and as they are passing away so too are their life experiences. Unless you have documented their life it stops with them.

As you get older in years you realise you are here for a very short time and that you should be the best Mum/Dad/sister/brother/aunt or uncle you can possibly be. The younger members of the family come to you for help and support and hopefully the years you have on them will guide them in the right way.

The young generation today are not going to be as fortunate as the "baby boomers" as we call them, a lot of them made their wealth through real estate, now the young ones are lucky to even get into a house - they are more likely to have to buy an apartment to start their journey.

Fights within the family which really sadden me is over "money" the root of all evil. When a property is left to be sold and the family members are all going to receive some money from the proceeds it's unbelievable what happens. In some cases, it causes such huge rifts that are so hard to overcome and sometimes it's never overcome. Not until someone steps into their life and bridges that gap, communication is the key to fixing most things.

Seniors do speak to me about their family and how they feel, like this one doesn't need anything and that one does (purely based on their financial situation) and if they don't leave it fairly all hell breaks loose. It's alright for the departed as they are not here to see it.

When doing your will please consider it very carefully and talk to the family about it so that they understand the reasons why you did what you did. Very very tricky I can tell you.
