RENTALS HOW FAR WILL THEY GO?

 Wow how far can the rentals go?  

Look this year has been full on for our property managers with winter usually being a less busier time for them as they can get to other jobs and clean out all their offices ready for a new year however it just hasnt stopped for them this year.

I assisted with a viewing for a two bedroom and a one bedroom up for rental and there was 80+ people in attendance I have never seen that it my 25 years of real estate.

The trouble is the over 70's are now selling their investments that we have been renting for them for many years as they no longer need them and quite frankly they cannot be bothered with all the changing rules the Governments seem to be putting on owners.  They cannot be bothered with the fact that tenant has most of the say and they have very little.

What has happened also is everyone is coming into WA (YES THAT'S RIGHT THE SECRET IS NOW OUT) they want the lifestyle that we have had for the last 2 odd years, they want the nice weather, the stability etc. etc. Urgh now we are in hot demand.

Rentals are just so short in supply its actually embarrasing.

Just what is this Government going to do to ease the burden, build more houses (that takes time) give investors a bigger incentive (that could be quick solution).  The taxes that are involved with owning an investment is just plain daylight robberty !!!  (I have whinged about it for years).

So wake up Government do something before its so out of control we will have people sleeping on the streets (well more people as there is a lot now).

Unfortunately for now renters, the ongoing lack of supply is expected  to give you a lot more further increased rents - but the silver lining for you guys come and see me and I can see you a one bedroom apartment for under $300k would be cheaper for you.
