HIGH RISE IS HERE TO STAY

It appears that we have lost the battle of fighting off the highrises along the railway line so now we need to move on and make sure that we have our say what goes into those high rises.

As our population ages the older people will need the transport and be close to shopping centres, medical centres etc. and I am presuming our Government is going to try and increase our migrants into the Country as well so hopefully they will all be occupied reasonably quickly. 

Funny how the Government said that they want high rise with less car's involved, I can tell you that is not going to happen, people need cars in Perth to get around as our train line doesnt go everywhere, we might get away with just the one car and not two.
Naivety of Governments and the people pushing the paper work is something I have never been able to get my head around.  Progress keeps coming we just have to learn to be able to manage it effectively.

Our Councils unfortunately I dont believe are knowledgeable enough on our areas (most of the employees dont live locally) they go strictly by the rule book and it doesnt necessarily suit our area, its a never ending battle and one that the people need to be on guard about.

Australians I dont believe will adjust to the small apartments they need roomy ones with storerooms, study, car bay +1 and not over the top strata fees.  Once into a strata you really need to be involved and make sure that everything is running properly as well and that could mean you may need to do a few courses on it to be a full bottle on it all.

Knowledge is power and you will adjust a lot quicker to things with Strata if you study up on it.  I am always learning more and more about it all as it changes quite frequently.

With high rise coming at us in all directions I guess we just have to change with it and try to have more of a say and give constructive comments as if we just say no because we dont like high rise it isnt going to fly anymore.  We can no longer plead ignorance.
