REVAMP OF COTTESLOE BEACH

Well I suppose 40+ years of waiting for a re vamp of Cottesloe Beach is in my mind a very long time.  Long overdue of being up dated with more facilities (nice toilets would be awesome), less cars, more activities, bars, restaurants its probably never going to happen in my lifetime so I am resigned to enjoy it just like it is old and tired, but that ocean is what brighten's my day.

Our Councils are not qualified or have the desired experience to make any decisions with now calling for yet another tender for another plan (think that we are now up to 7) is pretty obvious that they need to call in a big gun to take over and design the whole thing, lobby the Government and get the locals on board.  This revamp would have to be done in 2-3 stages I would imagine as you wouldnt want it to happen like Scarborough and all their business all but failed.

It's just so sad when you go overseas and a place like Italy or Greece that they have magnificent restaurants, sun lounges, beach umbrellas that you can hire, boats pretty much everything and yet Australia is so backward because - oh that might be risky, that could hurt someone, or no we cannot allow someone to do a business on the beach think of the insurance - seriously that's why we have had nothing happen because we are always thinking negative.

I just hope that some young people (talking about 40+) get's into that council that has got engineering/drafting/project managing experience or something like it so that we can go forward not going round and round in circles.

It's such a terrible shame that our suburb as beautiful as it is is being held back from jittery old fashioned, non progressive people, everyone will never agree so you wont be able to achieve that but atleast make a damn decision and back it.

The only good thing is that the beach/ocean is always a joy to look at and Chester and myself make the most of it pretty much every day. 

It's just a real shame I dont have the expertise either otherwise I would be giving them a run for their money.
