LACK OF RENTALS

 It comes as no real surprise really that Perth is now in a shortage of good rentals, not necessarily apartments but homes.

With 700 people now allowed to fly back into our State the pressure on the home rental market is now becoming quite critical.

With all the X Pats coming home and they cannot get back into their homes as they have been rented out and until March 2021 there is nothing that they can actually do about it they need to rent homes themselves.

As soon as we advertise these homes they are gone and to such really good applicants as well. This is not the time to be slack on the applications that you are receiving either (if you are renting the home out yourself).  You actually need to really consider handing the property over to a professional who actually keeps up with all the new rules and regulations that seem to change faster than you change your undies these days.

I am not really sure what the answer is to be honest as the rental rates have been so low for so long I fear that come March there will be a big hike in the rental prices especially for homes (we are already seeing this with homes that are being vacated).

If you are seeking a rental please make sure that you have all your paper work in order and ready to hand over at the viewing if you want to pursue the property.  Including a pet reference if you are wanting a pet in the home.  The cleaner the application the more chance you have going to the top of the list.

We must be getting 10 phone calls/emails a day enquiring what properties have we got coming up.

The air bnb business is back and in full bloom and I would think they are taking a bit of advantage on the lack of rentals now around.
