30 SOMETHING

 In the home opens I have noticed all the 30 something groups that have just got engaged, just got married, just having a baby or just got one baby.  They are now all out in force deciding to buy their first home together.

The only trouble is that they all know each other, grew up together, socialise together etc.

Now they are competing against each other for their first homes and they all seem to like the same homes (real worry).

The ones of course that will win are the ones that have been saving a heap of money and they can afford to either put on a decent deposit or they simply can borrow a lot more.

Instead of going overseas and blowing $10-$15k or more on holidays skiing etc. they have had to save their money instead so they now have disposal income.

What I am impressed with is the 23+ year olds they are out and about getting into their first apartment and they inturn have really good deposits too - I have to congratulate you lot as you are extremely smart.

Keep saving your money as interest rates have never been as cheap as what they are right now. I remember my first home loan at 18% and right now you can borrow at under 3% wow!!

If you are in that 30 something group do your best and make sure you make the effort to get preapproved as you are now going to be in competition for that property, those days of taking your time and thinking about it have now gone.
