BEING SINGLE

As you reach your 30's (from a women's prospective) your time clock will be ticking away madly and you will be thinking I need to get married and have children.  Some people do get married in haste only to find that after 4-8 years they are left with one or two children to raise.  Some women make that decision to have a baby on their own and that's a very scary thought and a huge commitment to take on.

I can tell you its no fun being the Mother & The Father of little children as you are always saying no to them all the time, whilst the Dad waltzes in and takes them for a couple of days and does all the fun things with them and kids idolise the fun police and dont always like the strict parent at the time (that comes later).

Bringing up children alone is probably going to be the hardest thing a single parent will ever have to do and if you dont have any back up to help you it will be even worse.
It seems very romantic having children but its anything but, it will kill any of that for a few months/years depending on how well you cope with having multiple jobs. I do admire the men that stay home and look after the children they know just how hard it can be.  It sounds glamorous and fun - yes you have fun with the kids but it certainly isnt glamorous. There is however light at the end of the tunnel, the kids do grow up and then you will face the teenage problems and when you get through that you will be three quarters the way there.  The best thing I was told was - children are like a shadow they never go away they will always be there - but that's why we have kids right?

Seriously though being single now at this time of my life I just love it, I dont have anyone telling me what to do, wheres my dinner, wheres my shirt, convince your partner you need some girl time away.  I suppose because I am a workaholic it helps and I do absolutely love my work.  Probably getting too late now for me as the more you stay on your own the more selfish you get with your time but I am okay with that.
