The Mother said that something must have happened when the electricity tripped and her daughter got the electric shock when she tried to turn the tap off. She had recently reported other electrical problems to the department, including a "burning electrical" for which an electrician had been unable to find a cause. There was an electrician at the home on Monday to install two out door security lights and she said he checked the RCD's, smoke alarms and flip switch.
The Director of Communities assistant director-general housing Greg Cash would not comment yesterday on maintenance issues at the house and said the department was waiting on information from the Office of Energy Safety regarding the incident. (huh they wouldn't know what was going on in their properties).
Homeswest or Department of Housing as they liked to be called these days are going to have a lot more to answer to as they are not checking the homes that they are currently renting out - these people are desperate people who have no where to go - they cannot afford to live in the "normal" rented situations so they are really ham strung by the Department.
Seriously I hope someone gets it in the neck - there is no excuse for ignorance.
Saying a little prayer for Denishar I hope you pull through okay its just not fair that you as an 11 year old had to go through this disaster.
