If you want to see what infill looks like at its worst then go to Claremont and have a look at all those apartments around the Claremont Footy Oval. Looks like an up market ghetto if there is such a beast.
No wonder apartments are struggling to sell with so many being built and with Perth not having that population to take them up. Our baby boomers dont want them they are too small and with not enough storage to them (have you seen the size of the wardrobes you kidding me wouldn't be enough for my dog ha ha - ok slight exaggeration).
Nedlands/Dalkeith you better stick to your guns and all rally together and fight this one off as you are the next disaster waiting to happen. Yes why not put four villas (one level) on a big block so that the seniors can then stay in their area, be a little bit independent and not be living in an apartment, none of them want that. Some of those seniors still have two cars yes eventually they will go down to one but when they are ready. They still play golf and they still like gardening, so a shed is still a must or a big garage. They want 3 bedrooms or 2 and a study with 2 bathrooms, what dont you understand about that.
Seriously Perth you better start taking notice of what's going on here and have your say as by the time these greedy developers have finished with us we will be surrounded by high rises.
