Compliance costs increase - RTA 1987 - A step forward
29 May 2015
Compliance costs have increased since the RTA of 1987, but REIWA is making a difference. This is an important time for REIWA and our advocacy efforts. In March 2015, we lodged a submission with the Department of Commerce about increases in red tape and compliance costs associated with the changes made to the Residential Tenancies Act 1987 in July two years ago. In recent weeks we have received a very positive response from the Department of Commerce. We are pleased to let you know that we are now going to work very closely with the Department to see how best we can address the concerns raised in our submission. This is a huge step forward and we thank the Commissioner for listening to our concerns. This is a great reminder that when we listen to you and your concerns, and relay that to the State Government, they do listen to us.
