SURFERS PARADISE

One morning I went for a walk the opposite way to what I did the day before.  Along the beach, checking out the 30+ story high buildings, marvelling at their structures and thinking how many people they must house? (Typical real estate thought). And moreover, how many people can enjoy the lifestyle of their lovely beach.

Apart from the lack of dogs being walked and the coffee vans that serve you coffee whilst you walk, you would have thought you were down at Cottesloe beach.  I had a smile to myself when I came across a home on a corner, that had obviously been renovated at some stage and they even painted the asbestos roof.  This would have been prime real estate in 2007 and it's good to see that this family has stuck it out. I think some big offers would have been knocked back in the heyday, but as property passes through hands it will be gobbled at some stage and a huge tower will replace it.  Unfortunately it's progress but it did look quaint in between all those tower buildings.

However, it got me wondering, why haven’t our councils/government done something about all the asbestos roofs around Australia?  We all know the dangers of those roofs and so many still exist in Cottesloe and Mosman Park. Maybe this is a subject someone should pick up on rather than the wrong type of insulation in our roofs?

Enjoyed Surfers, but makes me appreciate Perth, bring on 5 stories not 30+.
