Social media is a wonderful thing on lots of levels however it brings home to you pretty quickly what's happening around our time of life (by that I mean in your 50's)
I would have seen four postings of people loosing one of their parents and it's heart attack, stroke, or the big C. Cancer is a huge illness in our community and there is so many people dying of it.
We didnt wear out hats in the summer no block out etc we all baked in the sun (the kids are still doing that) yet people are still dying from skin cancers.
All I can say I dont have any parents left, or grandparents, if you do have parents/grandparents just remember to get their life stories down as they have some fantastic stories to tell this generation who will never experience what they experienced (even we didnt experience it).
When you lose a person that has been through the depression and the war you lose a lot of stories that would help people today put their lives into perspective.
We are losing so many young people with suicide (not being reported) because they feel a feeling of helplessness and no way out so they end their lives - such a shame !!
Hug your Mum and Dad, if you are lucky to have a grandparent make sure you see them a bit more, with our lives being so busy it can be months go by before you know it.
MAKE YOUR OWN DECISION AND GIVE IT A REAL GO !!
